Walvis Bay to grow port capacity

CONSTRUCTION: Namibia's Walvis Bay port will undergo a N$3 billion (R3 billion) expansion to enable it to handle as many as 1-million containers a year, the port authority said yesterday.

Construction was scheduled to begin by the end of the year. The deep-water port has the capacity at present to handle 350 000 containers a year.
